How did he combine these tools? What did this enable for him creatively? Why did he want to use and manipulate volumetric footage? Unity's VFX Graph is a game changing tool. We believe it has special relevance for our Volumetric Filmmaking community as a powerful way to expand the aesthetic range of 3D captured footage. Making our creative tools accessible to a wide range of skill sets and expertise is our passion.

We want to empower you to build and inhabit all the worlds you can dream up - transitioning from photoreal capture to out-of-this-world effects seamlessly and dynamically. So when Keijiro dropped his experiments on Twitter, we knew there was a conversation to be had and shared.

Keijiro is always pioneering, pushing VFX and real time graphics processing to the next level. As a new Depthkit user, his experiments brought a fresh and dynamic perspective to the possibilities in 3D capture. Of course, Keijiro is at the top of his game as a creative coder.

He makes this stuff look easy. He makes waves, literally and figuratively. If you think you need to be a code wizard like Keijiro to create these looks, think again. While Keijiro is publishing his work open source on his Github, Scatter is building the next generation of our Unity SDK to leverage the Visual Effects Graph so you can achieve Keijiro-like effects with no coding required! Conducted in Japanese and translated into English by Matthew Fargo, an artist and creative coder.

You have a very broad and diverse creative practice, so how would you describe what you do? I learned programming on an eight-bit computer in elementary School, and have been at it ever since. After college I spent ten years as an engineer at a video game firm. Everything I know about creative tech can basically be broken down into stuff I taught myself, before starting work, and then stuff I learned on the job afterwards.

I work at Unity, now, but I continue to pursue this stuff independently. Is there a particular method to how you choose your projects? Unity was originally conceived of as a game engine, so there are a lot of missing features when you try and use it for video processing. One of his enthusiasms is fishingfor which he has won awards like the Cool Anglers Award Kenjiro Yamashita was born on May 24,in Kyoto Prefecture. Inspired by the ancient two-faced god of time, JANUS is a meditative and contemplating VR art experience, that questions the effect of time on our identity.

The piece immerses the viewers in a dance and a dialogue between two dancers who reveal to be past and future - the two faces of time. He is usually depicted as having two faces, since he looks to the future and to the past.

Inspired by the two-faced Janus, the project questions the effect of time on our identity, as past and future face each other. Janus is the god of beginnings, gates, transitions, time and doorways and his mastership of time presides over concrete and abstract beginnings of the world. We are in times of political, economical and social transformation, and existential unrest is inevitable. Liminality is relevant, when questioning and defining identity, in times of transformation. A deep sense of presence is necessary in moments of transition which are often accompanied by a sense of displacement and loss of identity.

Presence is necessary to understand this moment and to be able to take action in response to it. Memory is key for the past not to repeat itself. Identity, in times of transformation, becomes under threat, and in these times of worrying resurgence of nationalism and populism, memory is key to reflect on the lessons learned from the past, to prevent history repeating itself.

The very idea of "progress" is challenged. In these times of distraction, the piece invites the audience to be present, regain a right to time. The piece is an invitation to attention, to acknowledge a sense of a long now, to reflect on past and future, and be aware of a sense of self and agency intended as taking action.

Time is an ocean only expert sailors can navigate. Many crash under its wave. We are made of all these dots in time, in a continuous flow, where the shape and line of these memories change, fade and reappear in a different form, under a different light. What if we are simply made up of our memories?

Then time would be space. And as we move through it, our being is made, a thread knit by moments. Janus VR is an exploration of digital identity, sculptural time and presence. Janus VR aims at exploring new speculative narratives, creating an immersive experience with an unprecedented dialogue and union of part prose - part choreography - part performance, and ambisonic sound, within virtual reality, opening new expressions and ontological possibilities.

VR is a space where the perception of time is altered and dilated, and a unique opportunity to experience a sense of presence, and the ideal medium to fully experience dance as the perfect art form, as it moves through time and space. The piece was created using volumetric capture, and further developed in the Unity game engine and optimised for the Oculus Rift.

The piece aims to be immersive, rather than interactive, and uses gaze tracking, in order to trigger subtle nuances in the animation. The combination of VR and volumetric techniques used in the creation of the piece is key to explore the boundary between real and virtual and for the audience to experience a sense of presence.

Created using volumetric capture and real time rendering technology, and with an holistic approach to VR by combining narrative, poetry, dance, performance and ambisonic sound, Janus VR presents a unique and multi-layered approach to engaging an audience in an immersive and intimate experience. Yumi Kakazu. She is often seen wearing a white kimono dress with flower patterns on the bottom. She wears her kimono loose, which reveals her bosom. During the Shikoku Arcshe was assigned as one of Rikuo Nura 's bodyguards. In the anime, she disguised herself as a middle school girl, wearing the Ukiyoe Middle School uniform which was a bit too small for her.

In the manga, she looks more like an actress, wearing a long dress and a boa.

Keijiro's Dev Log

She may act as a young girl and can be occasionally flirtatious. While in combat however, she has shown a bit bloodthirsty and a large amount of ruthlessness in battle as seen during the Kyoto arc. She displays concern when Rikuo is desperate or in trouble. She becomes one of Rikuo's additional bodyguards and keeps watch from the rooftop while he attends school. In the manga, she is among those who fight Inugami in the school auditorium.

In the final battle between Rikuo's forces and Tamazuki's, she fights against Kagibari Onna. In a dire situation, they are saved by Kappa and Yura. She primarily utilizes her hair as a weapon, though occasionally she also wields a pair of tessen. She can stretch and grow her hair to extraordinary lengths and is even able to use it much like a lasso.

Her hair is strong enough to be able to hold Kubinashi aloft without any trouble. Sign In Don't have an account? Start a Wiki. Contents [ show ]. Categories :.
