To use the cheap Chinese boards requires some reverse engineering, because they typically don't publish source code, schematics, or even a pin mapping. They are about as closed as you can get, but at least they don't scrub off the part numbers from the ICs.

Unfortunately mks does not make it easy to find their stuff. And there isn't much documentation accompanying their github folders. With this plugin you can send files directly to your printer if you have Wifi module installed to MKS-TFT35 and also save files to SD-card for example with the preview image. I copy and paste the binary code before my own gcode. I still have problems using the plugin. I don't usually use Cura and I'm definitely doing something wrong. I can choose the save location and the file name, but no file is actually saved. Export is not done. I tested Cura 3.

On your board, there are two sets of male pin headers near the SD card. On set has 8, the other has 4. The one with 8 is parallel to the long side of the board.

I just got mine running. The touch screen they included was bad but they replaced it. I had the same problem with the mis-wired heatbed but I fixed that. Using auto-level, the nozzle ends up about mm too high. So, giving up on that, I manually adjusted the z offset. Then when I try to print the calibration cube it heats the extruder and displays a gcode error in line Not sure what that means. I saw from your video you had similar issues.

I read a lot of complaints from people who received their X5S with broken acrylic Z mounts. The metal mounts are quite sturdy. Each bracket has two holes for the smooth rods to fit into. The reason for being able to customize the stock firmware on the 32bit controller is that, as of now, that board can not run Marlin. But that may change in the future as it seems there's a lot of work happening to make it work on 32bit boards.

But "luckily" ChiTu has opened a backdoor as there is a range of things that can be modified in their, otherwise closed, firmware. Supposedly in Marlin, to make FW changes you have to recompile and upload the full FW to the printer. The changes will be there after reboots of the machine. But hold your horses With the limited documentation we still have, it seems there's still some stuff we can't do this way. Also, it seems we can't set the preheating temps for the two different filament options - maybe somehow that is tied to the TFT user interface which is run by separate commands?

But the good news for me is that, at least, I can change the stepper direction and values for my upcoming Titan extruder mod which is what sparked this whole investigation for me in the first place. Someone else had a look into the same commands as 'bkrzysiek' and spent some time trying to make sense of them. I have tested the stepper direction, extruder fan kick-in temp and a few other basic options and they all worked.

Ok guys this page has been a lifesaver finding the 32bit board and adjusting the firmware for the new Extruder.
